Corrections
A claim in a guide is wrong, out of date, or doesn't match what you've found in your own home or your own council area.

Questions, corrections, topic suggestions
This page is for questions, corrections, topic suggestions, and anything else about the guides. We read every message, though we can't always reply to all of them. If you're reporting an error or a broken link, include the guide name and the specific point so we can check it quickly.
A message from your kitchen
Four kinds of message
The most useful messages fall into a few categories. Anything else, send it anyway — we'd rather read an over-long message than miss something useful.
A claim in a guide is wrong, out of date, or doesn't match what you've found in your own home or your own council area.
Send first, charm later
A topic we haven't covered yet that you'd like to see — a swap, a room, a repair job, or a beginner question you keep running into.
Specific beats broad
A UK-specific rule that varies by council or region and we've got it wrong — kerbside collections, deposit schemes, and bin rules shift by postcode.
Tell us your area
A swap that worked well or didn't work for you, especially if it contradicts something we've recommended in a guide.
Counter-examples welcome
Send a message
Include the guide name and the exact sentence or step where the problem sits. If you already know the fix, say so — corrections that come with a source get checked first.
Direct details
Before you send
If you're a brand wanting to be mentioned, this isn't the page for that. The site doesn't take payment for product mentions and doesn't run sponsored content — so paid link requests, affiliate offers, and review-for-placement emails won't get a reply.
Press, academic use, and anything that isn't covered above does belong here: use the same form and note it in the subject line. We don't have a separate press office.

Corrections
You don't need to be gentle about it. Direct is helpful.
Name the page you were reading — for example, the low waste home guide or the zero waste kitchen section on food storage. A title is enough; we'll find the spot.
Quote the specific sentence or step that's wrong. Copying the line takes you ten seconds and saves us guessing which paragraph you meant.
If you know what it should say instead, include that. If you can point to a source — a council page, a manufacturer's instructions, your own working notes — that speeds things up significantly.
Corrections affecting health, safety, or money get checked first. We update the guide and note the change at the bottom, unless the correction is trivial — a typo or a missing comma doesn't need a changelog.
Topic suggestions
We get a lot of these and they genuinely shape what we write. The best suggestions are specific. A guide to repairing small electricals in rented flats is more useful than a request for more sustainability content — it tells us the constraint, the room, and who's asking.
Tell us what you searched for and couldn't find a good answer to. Tell us what's actually confusing in your own household — the cupboard that keeps filling up with plastic, the shelf of jars you can't decide what to do with, the clothes you'd rather fix than bin. That's the material we work from.
A strong suggestion says
After you hit send
We aim to reply within three to five working days for most messages. Corrections and safety issues get prioritised, so a wrong claim about food storage or a broken link will usually land at the top of the queue.
If you haven't heard back after a week, feel free to resend. It's more likely we missed it than ignored it — a small inbox and a busy month is the usual explanation, and a second copy of your message costs nothing.
Topic suggestions don't usually get a reply, but they do get logged and reviewed monthly. We read them together rather than one at a time, which is how a handful of similar requests turns into a guide. If your suggestion becomes one, we'll be in touch — and we'll credit you if you said you wanted that.

Looking for a guide instead
If you came here hunting for a specific guide rather than to contact us, these five cover most of what the site does — from first swaps through to project work.
Start here
The best entry point for beginners. Covers zero waste living from the first week: what to change, what to leave alone, and which zero waste tips for beginners actually hold up in a normal UK household with a normal weekly shop. It also explains the upcycling vs recycling difference early, so the rest of the site makes sense.
Room-by-room changes for a low waste home, including how to reduce household waste in the bathroom, hallway, and laundry without buying a starter kit first.
Food and storage handled end to end — zero waste kitchen swaps, plastic free food storage, beeswax wraps usage and care, and composting food scraps at home.
What to buy and what to skip, with sustainable shopping tips, how to buy in bulk without overbuying, reusable produce bags guidance, and the plastic free alternatives worth the money.
Simple upcycling projects you can finish in an afternoon: how to upcycle glass jars, upcycled home decor DIY, repurposing old clothes, and plenty of reusing everyday items around the house.
Before you write
Usually three to five working days. Corrections and safety issues get priority, so if you're flagging something wrong about food storage or a dangerous upcycling step, it moves up the queue. If a week has passed with nothing back, resend — it's far more likely we missed the message than decided not to answer it.
No. The site doesn't take payment for mentions and doesn't run sponsored reviews. That's not a negotiating position — it's how the guides stay useful. If a product genuinely appears in a guide, it's there because it solved a problem we were writing about, not because anyone asked us to include it.
If we write the guide, yes, if you'd like us to. Just say so in your message. Plenty of people would rather stay anonymous, and that's fine too — we'll write the guide either way.
Yes, and starting questions are welcome. The guides assume no prior kit and no specialist knowledge — most sustainable lifestyle habits and eco friendly living ideas on this site cost nothing to try. If something is written in a way that assumes too much, that's useful feedback in itself; tell us which line lost you.
Your email is used to reply to you and nothing else — no list, no forwarding. If you send a correction we act on, we may quote the substance of it in the guide, but not your name or address unless you've said that's fine. The Privacy Policy sets out the full picture.
One last thing
If you're not sure whether your message counts, it does. Corrections, half-formed suggestions, and swaps that quietly failed are all worth more to us than silence. Include the guide name if you have one, and we'll take it from there.
