All content on the site, including text, photography, illustrations and page design, is owned by Rethink & Reuse or is used under licence, unless a page states otherwise. That includes the wording of each guide, the order in which steps are presented, and the checklists we assemble from them.

The site name, our wordmark, and the titles of our guides are our property. Please do not use them in a way that suggests we have endorsed or produced something we did not, and do not use them in paid advertising, packaging or printed material without written permission from us.

Photography credits appear where a picture is not ours. If you believe something on the site has been used incorrectly, write to us through the contact page with the page address and what you would like us to check.

If you send us a correction, a suggestion, a photograph or any other material through the contact page, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it to improve the site. That means we can fix a guide, add your local detail, or shorten an explanation — and you are free to use your own material anywhere else at the same time.

You confirm that you have the right to submit what you send, and that it does not infringe anyone else's copyright, privacy or other rights. Please do not send us material you copied from a book, a leaflet or another website.

We read submissions as they arrive, but we cannot promise to publish or reply to every one. Where a change is made to a guide, the wording on the page is the version that counts.

Our guides are written carefully and researched where we can, but they are general information — not professional advice. Nothing here is a substitute for the guidance of your local council, a qualified tradesperson, a food safety adviser, or a medical professional where a household habit touches on health.

Several details behind our guides change often. Council collection rules, what a recycling centre will accept, whether a kerbside service covers soft plastics, and which items a charity shop can take all vary across the UK and change over the year. So does stock at refill shops and the range of plastic free alternatives on a supermarket shelf.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss of profit arising from your use of the site or from anything you do after reading a guide.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Some rights you have as a consumer cannot be excluded by a notice like this one, and nothing here attempts to take them away.

Guides on this site link out to other places: council pages, charity shops, repair cafés, refill stores and product manufacturers. We link to them because they help you finish the job a guide started.

We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, prices, policies or practices. A link is provided for convenience and reference, and it is not an endorsement of everything a third party does or says.

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time — a guide may be rewritten, an old page removed, or a section paused while we research it properly.

We may also update these terms. The current version is the one published on this page, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept it. If a change is significant, we will note it here rather than leaving you to spot it.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
